2019 World Championships bronze medalist Manish Kaushik, 2022 Asian Championships bronze medalist Mohammad Hussamuddin and 2018 Commonwealth Games champion Gaurav Solanki on Tuesday advanced to the quarters of the ongoing 6th Elite Men's National Boxing Championships 2022 in Hisar.

Manish Kaushik (63.5kg), representing the Services Sports Promotion Board (SSCB), put up a strong show against Sandeep Doni of Andhra Pradesh. The 2018 Commonwealth Games silver medalist also displayed his exceptional technical ability to knock down his opponent. After that, he was declared the winner after the match was stopped by the referee in the second round. He will take on the winner of the bout between Manipur's Rohit Ningehougan Singh and Jharkhand's Neeraj Kumar Singh in the last-8 round.
On the other hand, Hussamuddin (57kg), also representing SSCB, was in the ring against Mizoram's Lallawmawma. The two-time Commonwealth Games bronze medalist was on top of his form during the match. He outplayed his opponent in a one-sided fashion. He will face Manish Rathod of Uttar Pradesh in the quarterfinal match.
Meanwhile, Haryana's Gaurav Solanki (60kg) defeated Harendra Singh of Madhya Pradesh in his last-16 bout. Putting in a strong performance, Solanki looked in complete control from the outset of the bout with his quick attack and excellent defense. Ultimately, he outclassed his opponent, winning 5–0 and entering the quarterfinals.

Representing the Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB), 2022 Asian Championships bronze medalist Govind Sahani (48kg) defeated Jammu and Kashmir's Mansingh in a one-sided fashion by a margin of 5-0. He will face Heli Tana Tara of Arunachal Pradesh in the quarterfinals. While Varinder Singh (60kg) defeated SSCB's Ibrahim Mohmmed 5-0 in a similar fashion to seal his place in the quarterfinals. Varinder is a teammate of Gaurav Solanki. The 2021 Asian Championships bronze medalist will step into the ring against Gaurav Solanki in the quarterfinal bout.
2021 Asian Youth Champion Biswamitra Chongtham (51kg), registered a stunning 5-0 win over Andhra Pradesh's Prabhudas Yadla. In addition, he is representing SSCB this time. Biswamitra will face Haryana's Yogesh in the quarterfinals. All the quarter-final matches of the Men's National Boxing Championships 2022 will be played on Wednesday.
