Captain Yash Dhull led from the front with an unbeaten century after Harshit Rana's heroics with the ball as India 'A' registered a huge eight-wicket victory over UAE 'A' in their first match of the ACC Men's Emerging Asia Cup on Friday. India 'A' restricted UAE 'A' to a low total of 175 for 9 in their 50 overs after Rana scalped 4 key wickets. Manav & Nitish picked up two wickets each to help Rana after Dhull chose to bowl first. ACC Men's Emerging Asia Cup: What happened in the match?
UAE 'A' found it difficult to accumulate runs against the Indians' ruthless bowling. Ashwanth Valthapa (46), opener Aryansh Sharma (38), and Mohammed Faraazuddin (35) were the only three significant contributors to the UAE side. The target was never going to create any problems for the Indian batters. They kept their calm and completed the formalities in 26.3 overs.
Yash Dhull led the chase as they reached 179 for the loss of two wickets. India 'A' lost both their openers inside six overs with 41 runs on the scoreboard. Sai Sudharsan (8) and Abhishek Sharma (19) couldn't give India a positive start. But Dhull (108 not out) and Nikin Jose (41 not out) ensured an easy win, constructing an unbeaten 138 runs partnership for the third wicket. Dhull scored 108 runs off 84 balls with 20 boundaries and 1 six. Jose, on the other hand, played the second fiddle and decorated his 53-ball inning with just five boundaries.
