20-year-old Aarya Desai replaces Shreyas Iyer for the rest of the season of IPL 2023. KKR brought him after spending INR 20 Lakh.

Kolkata Knight Riders finally found the replacement for Shreyas Iyer as they brought Aarya Desai in for the remainder of the ongoing IPL 2023. The youngster will replace Shreyas Iyer in the Kolkata Knight Riders squad. KKR signed the youngster for INR 20 lakh to replace Iyer. Iyer has been ruled out of the entire tournament due to a back injury.

The India star, Shreyas Iyer is set to undergo surgery on his injured back and is out for a good period of time on the sidelines. In his absence, Nitish Rana is leading the team in IPL 2023.

This is not the only player KKR replacing this season. Jason Roy replaced Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan as he pulled himself out of IPL 2023 due to personal issues. Kolkata Knight Riders recruited Roy for INR 2.8 crore.

IPL 2023: Aarya Desai

Aarya Desai is not a known name in the Indian cricketing world. Aarya has earned his maiden IPL contract after being signed up by the Kolkata-based outfit. The 20-year-old is a left-handed batsman who can also bowl right-arm off-break bowling. In domestic cricket, he plays for Gujarat. Earlier this year, he made his debut in First-class cricket and has played 3 games so far. In 3 games, he has scored 151 runs with the help of one half-century.
