Six years since the Red Devils lifted a major trophy. It has been already a long time for United. Erik ten Hag slowly improving Manchester United back to the top of English and European football. They took a major step with their victory against Barcelona in the UEFA Europa League. Now, United will turn their attention to the Carabao Cup and push on for a first trophy in six seasons. 

Manchester United have been on a sensational run of form lately and has only suffered one defeat in their last 20 games in all competitions. Marcus Rashford has been the most important player for United. In team news, Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek are not available for injuries while Anthony Martial will not be available with an ankle complaint. Antony scored the winner against Barcelona and he is fully fit as he could be pushing for a starting place. Marcus Rashford picked up a knock midweek but should be fighting fit for the game on Sunday.

Expectations are high as they head to Wembley for the first time in 24 years. The Carabao Cup final is a boost for the fan base that had suffered under the ownership of Mike Ashley. Now with the PIF and Eddie Howe, Newcastle is looking promising.

In team news, the absence of Nick Pope is a big worrying sight as he is suspended for the final after picking up a red card last weekend against Liverpool. With Martin Dubravka Cup-tied after playing for Manchester United on loan, third-choice keeper Loris Karius will start at Wembley. It could prove to be a fascinating redemption arc for the German keeper who has not played for an English club since that night for Liverpool in Kyiv for the 2018 Champions League final. 

Bruno Guimaraes will be back after serving a domestic suspension while Joelinton and Joe Willock are looking to be fit from the injuries ahead of the big game on Sunday.
