Bengaluru FC will lock horns with defending champions FC Goa in their Group A match in Durand Cup 2022 at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on Tuesday, August 30.
Under new manager Simon Grayson, Bengaluru FC have been one of the most impressive teams in the ongoing Durand Cup. The Blues head into the FC Goa fixture after thrashing Indian Air Force 4-0 at the Kishore Bharati Stadium in Kolkata last Tuesday.
Earlier, Bengaluru FC secured a 2-1 win over Jamshedpur FC in their opening match of the tournament.
With six points from two matches, the Sunil Chhetri-led side are currently placed second in the Group A standings, three points behind leaders Mohammedan, who have already qualified for the quarter-finals after winning all their three matches so far.
Meanwhile, Bengaluru FC need just a point against FC Goa in order to qualify for the quarter-final of Durand Cup 2022.

On the other hand, reigning champions FC Goa have struggled in the ongoing Durand Cup. The Carlos Pena-managed side has registered one win and suffered two losses in the tournament so far. While the Gaurs defeated the Indian Air Force team 1-0, they suffered defeats against Mohammedan (1-3) and Jamshedpur FC (0-1).
With three points from as many games, FC Goa are currently placed in third in the Group A standings and are out of the quarter-final contention.
