The cases of Covid-19 and Omicron are increasing rapidly everywhere. Many people associated with the different teams of I-League 2022, unfortunately, tested positive for the virus. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) postponed the I-league 2022 tournament for at least 6 weeks. They announced on Monday that 45 people already tested positive inside the bio bubble. H they took this decision of suspending meaning the tournament for 6 weeks.

The AIFF said in a release, "The League Committee, abiding consensus of all participating clubs as per the suggestion of Dr. Harsh Mahajan (member of AIFF Sports Medical Committee) ratified the decision to postpone the ongoing Hero I-League 2011-22 for at least 6 weeks."

At first, the tournament was suspended for a week only after covid-19 entered the bio-bubble. A total of 8 players and 3 officials tested positive last week. Within a few days, the cases increased rapidly and the outbreak inside the bio-bubble created chaos. Lastly, the AIFF decided to suspend the tournament. The I-League committee will once again look into and take further actions after 4 weeks.
