Man City have had to dig deep in stoppage time for a second time this season to secure maximum points against a relentless Wolves side. Sportz Point gives you all the details.

Gary O'Neil has struggled as Wolves' head coach this season, with wins becoming harder to come by each week. However, today, they displayed their potential as one of the top transition teams in English football. Unfortunately, City outclassed them when it mattered most.

Wolves drew first blood at Molineux, in a game packed with very tight moments. Wolves took an early lead in the 7th minute when Jørgen Strand Larsen found the back of the net from close range. The move began with neat midfield play that allowed Nelson Semedo to deliver a dangerous cross into the box. City’s defense failed to clear, and Strand Larsen was on hand to finish at the far post, giving Wolves an unexpected lead

City almost responded immediately, with Bernardo Silva testing Wolves goalkeeper José Sá, who pulled off a brilliant save to deny the Portuguese midfielder. Sá continued to be instrumental throughout the first half, making multiple crucial saves to keep the Wolves side in the game.

City's equalizer came in the 33rd minute through a stunning strike from Josko Gvardiol. Positioned on the edge of the box, Gvardiol curled a beautiful shot into the top right corner, leaving Sá with no chance.

Despite City’s dominance in possession, Wolves remained dangerous on the counterattack, with Nelson Semedo coming close to doubling their lead earlier when his one-on-one attempt was blocked by Ederson

Second Half

In the second half, City continued to push for a winner, but Sá and the Wolves defense stood firm. Craig Dawson was particularly impressive, making several key interventions to frustrate City's attacking players.

However, City’s relentless pressure finally paid off in the dying moments of the game. In stoppage time, Phil Foden’s corner found John Stones, who rose above the Wolves' defense to power home a header in the 95th minute.

The goal was initially reviewed by VAR for a potential offside against Bernardo Silva, but it was allowed to stand, handing City a crucial win that temporarily took them to the top of the Premier League

Final Score

Manchester City- 2 (Josko Gvardiol 33', John Stones 90+5')

Wolverhampton Wanderers- 1 ( Strand Larsen 7')
