Struggling Manchester City appeared poised to close the gap to Premier League leaders Liverpool to six points after Josko Gvardiol’s first-half header gave them the advantage at the Etihad.
However, Pep Guardiola’s side delivered a lacklustre performance and was undone by two late blows, both orchestrated by the influential Amad.
The victory lifts Manchester United to 12th in the table, ending their two-game losing streak and putting them within five points of City, who remain fifth, nine points off the top spot.
First Half

Phil Foden came close early on, sending a volley narrowly wide of the right-hand post as Manchester City controlled possession in the opening stages but struggled to create clear opportunities.
The breakthrough came in the 36th minute. Kevin De Bruyne exchanged a quick one-two with Ilkay Gundogan from a corner before delivering a cross that deflected off Amad and found Josko Gvardiol, who rose to head powerfully into the bottom-left corner.
Second Half

As time wound down, Manchester United grew more adventurous and came close when Bruno Fernandes beat the offside trap, only to lift his effort over Ederson and just wide of the target.
With four minutes to go, Amad capitalized on Matheus Nunes’ sloppy back pass. As Nunes attempted to recover, his clumsy challenge brought down the winger, allowing Fernandes to convert from the penalty spot.

The drama wasn’t over, as Amad struck again in the dying moments, squeezing the ball home from a tight angle to secure all three points for United.
