Odisha FC defeated Bengaluru FC 2-1 in the Hero Super Cup 2023 final to lift their first-ever trophy on Tuesday at the EMS Stadium in Kozhikode, Kerala. While Diego Mauricio's first-half brace gave the Juggernauts a comfortable lead, Sunil Chhetri's late penalty just gave the Blues some consolation.

Mauricio scored twice. He gave an early lead in the 23rd minute of the game. Diego Mauricio got his freekick on target but Gurpreet failed to collect the ball, as it slipped from his hand and bounces into the back of the net. In the 37th minute, Mauricio struck again and doubled the lead by 2-0 ahead of half-time. A beautiful cross was floated inside the Bengaluru FC box. Jerry met the ball with a header and guided the ball toward the goal. Mauricio was there in the right place at the right time to get the crucial touch. He guided the ball inside the net.

Bengaluru, the 2018 champion got a huge lifeline in the 83rd minute. Jadhav brought down Sivasakthi inside the box and the referee pointed towards the spot. Skipper Sunil Chhetri made no mistake and converted from the spot in the 85th minute of the game. A late drama but that's what they were looking for. Chhetri delivered a great cross inside the box in the 90+7 minute and Krishna met it with a thumping header. He couldn't keep his effort on target. Bengaluru tried but could not find the equaliser. Odisha FC held their ground strongly and defended like the warriors. The game ended with a 2-1 scoreline as Odisha FC clinched their first Super Cup title. Mauricio became the Man of the Match for the brace he scored.
