So, if you follow women's football, you are already aware about Marta's legacy. Well, the Brazilian legend is perhaps the most iconic female football player in the history. As the football matches started at Tokyo, Marta created another record for herself. She created the Olympic record for scoring goals in straight Olympics games.

35-year-old female footballer played her first Olympic game at the 2004 Athens Olympics. Till then she has played in every Olympic games.

The all-time record goal scorer in the FIFA Women's World Cup (17) has now 12 goal in Olympics as well. Marta is also the Brazilian footballer (male or female) with most international goals (111). She was also the first player to score at five World Cups.

At Tokyo Olympics, Marta's Brazil faced China in their first match of the Olympics. Marta created the Olympic record after scoring her first goal at the Miyagi Stadium in Rifu. She scored her first in the 9th minute of the game with a help of rebound.

Later she netted the ball in the 74th minute with diving finish in the box. Marta's brace and Olympic record helped Brazil thrash 5-0 in the match. Pele recognized Marta's efforts and congratulated him for the unique Olympic record.
