The UEFA Euro 2020 last-16 stage is done and dusted. There round of 16 stage had it all, from upsets to one siders and thrillers. The winners of the last-16 fixtures now move to the Euro 2020 quarter-finals one step closer to the title.

Euro 2020 Quarter-finals: qualified teams

1. Denmark:

At one time it looked like Denmark won't even qualify for the knockouts. However, here they are now in the quarterfinals after defeating Wales. They had a rough group stage but thrashed Wale 4-0 in the Round of 16 fixture. The Danes will now face the Czech Republic in their quarter-final fixture. Although Denmark was heavily affected by the tragic events of Eriksen, they came back stronger to qualify to the quarter-finals.

2. Italy:

The ever-strong Italy made it to the quarter-finals after beating Austria 2-1. The Azzurri's was looking very confident from the start of the Euros and its no surprise that they have made it to the quarter-finals. They topped Group A notching all available 9 points defeating every other contender in the group. Italy will now face another serious title contender Belgium in their quarter-final tie. This tie is probably the most exciting fixture in the Euros till now.

3. Czech Republic:

The Czech Republic produced an upset against the Netherlands on Sunday to go through to the quarter-finals. They defeated the men in orange 2-0 and sealed their spot in the last-8. However, only to qualify as one of the best third-placed teams, they have come a long way. The Czech Republic will now face Denmark in the quarter-finals and they have a pretty good chance to make it to their first semi-finals since 2004.

4. Belgium:

Belgium ran riots in the group stages of the Euro 2020. However, they passed a hard test against Portugal in the last-16 stage. Although they managed a 1-0 win over Portugal, they hardly created any chances and were dominated by Portugal throughout the entire 90 minutes. Belgium will now face Italy in the quarter-finals who are in the form of their life. A tough task ahead for the red-devils and a mouth-watering fixture awaits for the fans.

5. Spain:

Spain vs Croatia was one of the most entertaining matches that the Euro has ever produced. The game had everything from blunders to brilliance. Finally, Spain emerged victorious with a 5-3 victory at extra time. The Spaniards will now face giant killer Switzerland on Friday.

6. Switzerland:

Switzerland did the unthinkable to make its way to the Euro 2020 quarter-finals. They defeated the World Champions France and produced a major upset in the football world. 120 minutes wasn't enough to produce a result as the score ended 3-3 and had to move to penalty shootouts. Kylian Mbappe missed the ever crucial 5th penalty which resulted in a Switzerland victory. However, they face another giant, Spain in the quarter-finals, will they produce another upset, it's just a matter of time till we find out.

7. England:

England exceeded expectations last day when they defeated Germany 2-0. The three lions dominated the match tactically and Sterling broke the deadlock in the 75th minute. Finally, Harry Kane put the final nail in the coffin in the 86th minute to seal England's spot in the quarter-finals. However, they have a favourable draw in the quarter-finals as they will be facing Ukraine in the last-8 on Sunday.

8. Ukraine:

Football is harsh sometimes, and that was the case when Ukraine defeated Sweden 2-1 AET to proceed to the quarter-finals. Sweden scored a late winner against Poland which made a way for Ukraine to the last-16 stage. However, Ukraine showed no mercy to Sweden and kicked them out of the last-16. They now face a bigger challenge as they face England in the quarter-finals of the Euro 2020. They now become the third team after the Czech Republic and Switzerland to qualify for the quarter-finals after securing a last-16 spot as one of the best third-placed team.
