Ravichandran Ashwin created history by dismissing Tagenarine Chanderpaul in the first innings of the opening Test of the WIvsIND test series. He became the first Indian bowler to dismiss the father-son duo in the game's longest format. Ashwin dismissed the West Indies legend Shivnarine Chanderpaul back in 2011 during the 1st Test in New Delhi.

West Indies skipper Brathwaite won the toss and opted to bat first in the 1st test of the WIvsIND series. Ashwin trapped Chanderpaul beautifully in the 13th over. Ashwin became the first Indian bowler to claim wickets of a Father-Son duo in Tests but he is not the only international cricketer to do so. England's legendary bowler Ian Botham, Pakistan's pacer Wasim Akram, Australia's Mitchell Starc, and South Africa's Simon Harmer are the other players on the list of achieving this rare feat.

Earlier, Virat Kohli joined the elite list of players playing against both father and son in international cricket. Kohli faced Shivnarine Chanderpaul in the home series against West Indies in 2011.
