In a historic occasion in Indian domestic cricket, Jammu & Kashmir defeated Mumbai by 5 wickets in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25.
Despite Mumbai having nearly 7 Indian players in their playing XI, Jammu & Kashmir were able to get a win at the BKC Ground in Mumbai.

Rohit Sharma, who was making a return to Ranji Trophy after 10 years, could only score 31 runs in the whole match. Yashasvi Jaiswal failed with the bat too.
Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer and Shivam Dube could not do that much as well. Shardul Thakur scored a fifty and a ton in first and second innings respectively but that was not enough for Mumbai to get the win.
With this win, now it would be tough for the defending champions Mumbai to reach the knockouts of Ranji Trophy 2024-25.
