England starts the T20 World Cup with a storm by chasing down the target easily in their opening match of WI-W vs EN-W.

The English Women's side starts the tournament with a storm by defeating West Indies in their first group stage game. Sophie Ecclestone's bowling masterclass demolished the batting order of the opposition. As a result, West Indies failed to put up a challenging total in their opening group stage match of WI-W vs EN-W. Heather Knight's army enjoyed the chase and seized the victory.

West Indies played their opening match against the English Giant in the Group stage at Boland Park. WI Captain Hayley Matthews won the toss and elected to bat first. Sarah Glenn gave the early breakthrough. West Indies tried to build a partnership as skipper Hayley tried her best to dominate the opposition bowlers but Knight's bowling order was focused enough to do the job. Sophie Ecclestone took 3 wickets including the vital wicket of the opposition captain. West Indies gave a target of 136 runs to the English Side.

England Women's side came into the bat confidently but lost the crucial wicket of opener Danni Wyatt too early. Sophia Dunkley then started her show by smashing boundaries for fun. She gave an early run rate advantage to her team. Eventually, she got out but Nat Sciver-brunt (40*) and skipper Heather Knight's (32*) partnership completed the run chase in just 14.3 overs.
