Indian men's and women's compound teams won gold medals in their respective categories at the ongoing Archery World Cup Stage 4 in Paris, France on Saturday. This is the first time the women's and men's compound teams secured the gold medals in the same edition of an Archery World Cup since 2006.

The compound women's team of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Aditi Gopichand Swami, and Parneet Kaur won the yellow medal by defeating Mexico 234-233 in the final. It is India's first gold at the Archery World Cup Stage 4.

On the other hand, The compound men's team of Praveen Ojas Deotale, Prathamesh Jawkar and Abhishek Verma defeated USA 236-232. They followed it up with another top-of-the-podium finish to fetch the second gold for India at the Archery World Cup Stage 4.

With two gold on Saturday, India has taken its Archery World Cup Stage 4 medal tally to four. Incidentally, this is the first time the Indian women's and men's compound teams secured the gold medals in the same edition of an Archery World Cup since 2006, when the first edition took place.

Meanwhile, in the recurve category, Indian men's and women's teams won bronze medals in their respective categories. After that, they opened India’s account at the Archery World Cup Stage 4. The recurve men's team of Atanu Das, Dhiraj Bommadevara, and Tushar Shelke won the bronze medal. They defeated the Spanish trio 6-2 on Thursday. Earlier, Spain had beaten fourth seed USA to enter the last four. But the Indian team ultimately proved to be a step ahead in the Paris conditions.

While the women’s team of Bhajan Kaur, Ankita Bhakat, and Simranjeet Kaur got the better of Mexico in the shoot-off. The scores were tied 4-4 at the end of the fourth set. Both teams missed out on a chance to secure Paris 2024 Olympic berths.
