Australia canceled Novak Djokovic's visa as he was on his way to the season-opening tennis major, Australian Open 2022.

Austalia denied the entry of World No. 1 tennis player  Novak Djokovic on Thursday. Unfortunately, Australia canceled his visa as he was on his way to the season-opening tennis major, Australian Open 2022. The Serbian champion is staying at the immigration detention center in Melbourne.

Serbia's foreign secretary Nemanja Starovic demanded Australia to treat Novak with respect and also move him to a better hotel. Serbia started demanding after Acting Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan revealed that tennis Australia did not inform her or her government about Djokovic's exemption situation. Nemanja Starovic said in a statement, "We expect that the ambassador personally takes action for him to be moved to accommodation befitting the best sportsman in the world, not a criminal or an illegal immigrant."

Entire Serbia believes that the Serbian legend became one of the victims of Australian Sports politics. Novak decided to legally challenge them after Australia canceled his Visa. He spent 8 hours in detention at the Melbourne airport. Australia did not let Novak enter or play in the Australian Open 2022 because of his particular vaccine exemption. This created a huge controversy and the Australian people are also not in favor of Djokovic. Lastly, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said that Novak is no special case and the rules are equal for everyone.
