Novak Djokovic returned to the singles court with a hard-fought win in the Paris Open 2021. In his Paris Masters opener match, he defeated Hungary's Marton Fucsovics 6-2 4-6 6-3.

The 20-time Grand Slam champion won his first single match post his defeat against Daniil Medvedev at the US Open final in September. Novak said post-match of Paris Open 2021, "It was a great fight and a great opening match for me. I did not expect anything but I knew it was not going to be an easy match."

Currently, the ATP ranked No.1 player is expecting to finish 2021 men's No. 1 for a record 7th time.

The 34-year-old took a long break after he lost against Medvedev. He was seen crying post-match as he could not fulfill his dream of becoming the first tennis player in more than 50 years to win all the four majors in the same season.
