Reliance Foundation's star athlete Jyothi Yarraji has created history by qualifying for the women's 100-meter hurdles for the Paris Olympics 2024. With this, she became the first Indian female athlete to qualify for this event in the Olympics.

Only Indian woman to finish below the 13th mark

Jyothi Yarraji, the current national record holder in this event, is the only Indian woman to win a medal in the women's 100-meter hurdles at the Asian Games, where she won a silver medal last year. She is the only Indian woman to finish below the 13th mark and holds the record for the fastest 15 runs ever by an Indian in this category. And in a knock-on effect, Jyothi also broke the long-standing national record held by three other women and now Anuradha Biswal.

Recently won gold in Senior Inter-State Athletics Championship

Jyoti's personal best performance is 12.78s, which she achieved despite a tough competition at the final hurdle at the Motonet GP in Finland earlier this year. Continuing her unbeaten streak on Indian soil, she also recently won a gold medal in the Senior Inter-State Athletics Championship.
