After an intense two days of auction, eight franchises of the Bengal T20 League 2026 assembled their squad for the upcoming season. Each franchise completed 136 player signings in the Men’s category, while 128 players were signed in the Women’s category.

It was an auction ruled by all-rounders, as Mita Paul emerged as the most expensive women's player, while Shahbaz Ahmed bagged the most in the men's category.

Mita Paul, the Bengal captain, who has led the Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers to successive titles and was the Player of the Match in both finals, was retained by her franchise. The Tigers did not miss the opportunity to use their Right to Match card and make Paul the most valuable women's player in the auction with an INR 3 lakhs price tag.

Mita Paul was closely followed by Dhara Gujjar, a talented Bengal opener, who recently played for India-A. Dhara went to the franchise of the tournament, Novus Purulia Royals, at INR 2.85 lakhs.

All-rounder Tanushree Sarkar, who was the Bengal Women's Cricketer of the Year 2025, was the third most expensive player in the women's category, while wicket-keeper batter Priyanka Bala, who has played for the Mumbai Indians in the 2024 edition of WPL, went for INR 2.25 lakhs. Bala was retained by Murshidabad Kueens.

With the teams compelled to have at least two U15 players in their 16-player women's squad, 13-year-old Ariktha Manna surprised everyone by attracting ₹1.55 lakhs from Rashmi Medinipur Wizards.
