India's badminton players, Kidambi Srikanth and Lakshya Sen recahed the quarter-finals of the Hylo Open 2021. Saarlandhalle in Saarbrücken, Germany is hosting the tournament from 2 to 7 November 2021.

Kidambi Srikanth reached the next stage after a hard-fought win against Dong Ken Lee of Korea. Srikant played a nail-biting match for 56 minutes to register a victory 21-9 19-21 21-10 in the pre-quarterfinal match. He will face off Hong Kong's NG Ka Long Angus on 5 November.

On the other hand, Lakshya Sen beat Tzu Wei in the pre-quarterfinal match. The match lasted for 8 minutes and ended with 21-17 21-15 and the 20-year-old won the match. He will play against Thailand's Kunlavut Vitidsarn in the next match.

Hylo Open 2021 is quite disappointing for India 3 Indian shuttles lost their matches and hence bowed out of the tournament.

  • Sourabh Verma lost against Thailand's Kantaphon Wangcharaoen 13-21 10-21 in 33 minutes in men's singles.
  • In the women's doubles, the Indian pair, Ashwini Ponappa and N Sikki Reddy were beaten by Nita Violina Marwah and Syaikah Putri in straight games in the last 16 clash. In just 35 minutes, the Indonesia duo register their win 21-15 21-16.
