Third seed PV Sindhu gave her best but could not go ahead of An Seyoung. She lost both sets continuously in the encounter. A point to note is that this was Sindhu's 4th consecutive defeat against An Seyoung.
The South Korean shuttler was entirely in form from the start and commenced the match with a 3-0 lead. Sindhu tried hard to keep up with the pace of her opponent but Seyoung did not give let the Indian shuttler come anywhere near her and won the first set 21-14 easily.
Sindhu started the second set just like her opponent with a 3-0 lead. But the Korean managed to overcome Sindhu in every instance in between and won the second set 21-17.
She will now face Thai badminton player Pornpawee Chochuwong in the Korea Open 2022 on 10 April.
