Indian shuttlers created history by winning the Thomas Cup for the first time in their history. They defeated Indonesia in the final by 3-0. In the first match, Lakshya Sen defeated Ginting and secured his first win of the tournament. Then it was the pair of Swatiksairaj and Chirag Shetty who came back from a set down to win the match. In the last match, the former World No.1 Kidambi Srikanth defeated Christie in the straight sets to create history for India. This was the first time India qualified for the final.
