Asia Cup 2022: "It's always an exciting time and a great challenge to compete against a good team like Pakistan": KL Rahul.

Indian team vice-captain KL Rahul has said that the team is very excited to play against their arch-rivals in their opening encounter of the Asia Cup 2022. India and Pakistan are set to face each other during the Asia Cup clash on August 28 (Sunday).

Rahul also said that the Indian players look forward to the contest. As we know, both teams don't play each other in any bilateral series and only face each other during big events. Notably, both teams played against each other in the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup in UAE. In the match, Pakistan handed a 10-wicket defeat to India.

"We are all very excited. As players and as an Indian team, we look forward to this India-Pakistan clash as we don't play each other anywhere else but in these big tournaments. It's always an exciting time and a great challenge to compete against a good team like Pakistan."

said KL Rahul during a press conference

"As well all know there's a great history and there's always rivalry and the games have always been of high intensity. So, as players, we have all dreamt of playing India v/s Pakistan games. It is a great opportunity for us to challenge ourselves," he added.

Asia Cup 2022: KL Rahul isn't worried about Kohli's form

Rahul also said that they are not worried about Kohli's form with the bat. KL added that Kohli has remained an integral part of team India over the past many years.

"We are not worried about the form of Kohli, he has done many times for India. His mindset will remain the same to win the game for India. We all want him to get back into form," said Rahul.

"We don't really give much importance to comments. It doesn't really affect a player, especially a world-class player like Virat will not be affected by what people are saying on the outside. He has had a little break and he is working on his game," he further added.
