Team India is set to take on their arch-rivals Pakistan in their first match of the Asia Cup 2022. The tickets for the much-awaited clash will also go on sale on August 15 (Monday). The information was given by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) through a tweet recently.

The Asia Cup 2022 is slated to start on August 27 with Sri Lanka and Afghanistan taking on each other in the tournament opener. The prominent cricketing nations including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh have already qualified for the tournament.

However, the qualifier is to be played among UAE, Kuwait, Singapore, and Hong Kong in Oman. The qualifier is scheduled in Oman between August 20 to August 23.

Meanwhile, the Men in Green are currently preparing for their ODI series against the Netherlands slated to start soon. Similarly, the Men in Blue will be soon seen in action in a three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe. KL Rahul will lead the Indian team while Shikhar Dhawan chooses as his deputy.

Talking more about the Asia Cup, the tournament was slated to be played in Sri Lanka this year, but due to the current economic situation in the island country and food and fuel shortages, the organizing committee decided to shift the tournament to the UAE.

"Considering the prevailing situation in Sri Lanka, the ACC after extensive deliberation has unanimously concluded that it would be appropriate to relocate the tournament from Sri Lanka to UAE," ACC had said in a statement.
