Former Team India head coach Ravi Shastri believes that the super-sub rule will turn out to be a game-changer in the T20 format of the game. The rule has been adopted by the Legends League Cricket 2022, which kicked off on Friday, September 16. Meanwhile, it kicked off with a special one-off match between India Maharajas and World Giants at Eden Gardens.

According to the revolutionary concept, each side will have access to one "super substitute" that they can utilize following the completion of 10 overs in any given innings of the game. However, the teams will have to reveal their substitute player options before the start of play.

Ravi Shastri, who is the match commissioner at LLC this year, said the following:

"I see this game evolving all the time. Who knows tomorrow it might be something that's used even at the international level. Don't be surprised because this is one format that can evolve, especially in tournaments like these where you are not bound by certain rules.

You can create your own rules in tournaments like these or even in the IPL, or Big Bash. If you want to experiment or try something new, this is the place to do it,"

former India all-rounder Shastri said in Kolkata on Friday

The BCCI introduced the impact player rule on Friday for the domestic T20 tournaments to make the games more intriguing and interesting.

The rule will be applicable during the upcoming season of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which begins in October. If the new rule turns out to be a success, it is likely to be introduced at the IPL 2023 as well.

Speaking of Legends League Cricket, the tournament will be played between four teams. The teams are named Bhilwara Kings, India Capitals, Manipal Tigers, and Gujarat Giants. Meanwhile, Irfan Pathan, Gautam Gambhir, Harbhajan Singh, and Virender Sehwag as the respective captains. However, the league starts on Saturday, September 17.
