Sri Lanka faces a massive blow as speed star Dushmantha Chameera has been ruled out of the entire T20 World Cup. It was already confirmed that Chameera would not play Sri Lanka's game against the Netherlands on Thursday. Now the news coming in from the Lankan camp is that Chammera's calf injury is serious and he is out for the entire World Cup.

This news comes as a major shock for the Asia Cup 2022 winners. Dushmantha Chameera missed the Asia Cup tournament owing to an ankle injury. Now coming back from his injury, the Sri Lankan speedster picked up a similar injury toward the end of the game. Now that he has been ruled out of the Netherlands match. There are growing concerns that Chameera might also miss the rest of the entire tournament.

The incident took place in the last ball of the 17th over. Going up to bowl to Junaid Siddique, Chameera completed his run-up but couldn't execute his delivery. Chameera was seen, hobbling up by the side of the pitch.

Chameera was then spotted shaking his head and gingerly walking and hobbling away with the team physio. He didn't spend a single moment on the pitch anymore and moved away from the pitch.
