    IND vs PAK: Team News

India and Pakistan have won both their first two games. India defeated five-time champions Australia by six wickets in Chennai, and then Afghanistan by eight wickets in Delhi.

Shubman Gill missed the Australia and Afghanistan games because of dengue fever. He has rejoined the team in Ahmedabad. Gill is expected to miss the Pakistan game as well, with Ishan Kishan to continue to open the batting with Sharma. It is not sure if Shami will get the chance against Pakistan. Shardul bowled decent as he replaced Ashwin in the Afghanistan game.

"It's a massive game. We are playing an opposition which has quality. We just have to play good cricket, which we have done in the last two games. Hopefully, we can again show some consistency in our performance," Rohit said in the pre-maatch press conference.

"You feel nice about playing in front of your home crowd. They get behind you no matter what the situation of the game is. I look at this as a good advantage. It is always nice to go into any World Cup game with this kind of rhythm and confidence," The Indian skipper added.

Pakistan played both their opening fixtures in Hyderabad, beating the Netherlands in the first game by 81 runs and Sri Lanka by six wickets. Pakistan's batting change against Sri Lanka worked wonders, with Abdullah Shafique scoring a fine hundred on the World Cup debut. Rizwan was the main man while chasing the huge target. Pakistan's batting will improve more when Babar will find his form but the problem is bowling which will be the key against India on Saturday.

"I don't think about the past, I'd rather focus on the future," Babar said in the pre-maatch press conference.

"All records are meant to be broken, and we'll try to break this record tomorrow. India-Pakistan match is a big game, a high-intensity contest. I've told my boys it's a great opportunity – give your best, execute your plans and believe in yourself," The Pakistan skipper added.
