Root has moved to joint second place for the most number of dismissals in Tests against a team in Tests as captain.
Root could not open the account for the fifth time against Australia as captain. In this respect, he is equal to Don Bradman. Therefore, Joe Root becomes the joint record holder for the record of most number of ducks in the Ashes as captain, New Zealand's Stephen Fleming is at the top of this list.
