Lucknow Super Giants' fast bowler Shivam Mavi is out of the entire season of IPL 2024 due to rib injury. LSG has officially given this information by sharing a video on Wednesday.

Lucknow Super Giants have shared a video on their social media platform X, in which Shivam Mavi is seen talking about his injury. Mavi said, "I will miss [the tournament] a lot. I had come here after an injury and had thought I would play matches for my team and do well. But unfortunately, I will have to leave because I have suffered an injury. A cricketer has to be mentally strong for this. If you have an injury, you need to see what you have to do to make a comeback, what things you need to take care of."

LSG had bought Mavi in the IPL 2024 auction for Rs 6.40 crore. Mavi has been a part of the team's pre-season camp after the auction in December 2023. However, he failed to regain fitness and could not play any matches.
Mavi has played 32 IPL matches in the league so far
Shivam Mavi did not play any matches even in the last season and was seen playing for KKR in IPL 2022. In that season, he took 5 wickets in 6 matches with an economy rate of 10.32. In his IPL career, he took 32 wickets in 32 matches at an average of 31.40 and an economy rate of 8.71. Meanwhile, his best performance was taking 4 wickets for 21 runs.

Matt Henry, Shamar Joseph, Mohsin Khan, Naveen-ul-Haq, Mayank Yadav, Yash Thakur, Arshad Khan, and Yudhvir Singh are the other fast bowling options in the team. LSG gave 21-year-old Mayank a chance in their last two matches of IPL 2024, in which he impressed with his pace.
