    Neither team made a huge overhaul during the auction. South Africa’s Rilee Rossouw, who was part of the DC setup last year, will play for PBKS this season after being bought for Rs 8 Crores. Punjab invested 11.75 crores in Harshal Patel who picked up 32 wickets in the 2021 season. Jonny Bairstow is back in the squad after missing the last season because of an injury. Jitesh Sharma was brilliant for Punjab in the Indian Premier League 2023 but he will have to deliver this time too. Shikhar Dhawan has a huge responsibility on his shoulders for the Punjab Kings in the batting department. Although, he has been consistent in the previous seasons. He is also the second-highest run-scorer in the history of the competition. Arshdeep Singh and Kagiso Rabada will lead the bowling attack for Punjab and will be hoping for a solid start this time around.

    Delhi Capitals

    Prithvi Shaw scored only 106 runs from eight games at an average of 13.25 and a strike rate of 124.71 last season. David Warner, on the other hand, scored 516 runs at an average of 36.86 after getting almost zero help from the top-order batters. The veteran Aussie has always delivered with his batting and is set to face the fierce bowlers again this season. Rishabh Pant is back which will be a huge momentum boost for the side. Kuldeep Yadav can be crucial with his spin bowling and provide some early breakthroughs for DC. He is coming off good performances in Test cricket and has been performing consistently for the Indian team in white ball as well. He will be helped by experienced bowlers like Ishant Sharma and all-rounder Axar Patel.

    Kumar Kushagra was brought into the team after spending a huge amount of money and he might make his debut. Mitchell Marsh will be an important player for the Capitals as he can contribute with both bat and ball in important situations. Nortje is coming back from an injury so it is still not sure if he will feature for Delhi in the match against Punjab.
