The traffic jam at the points table of the IPL 2023 is getting exciting day by day. There's no surety about which team will make it into the playoffs. 8 out of 10 teams are still in contention. As each day is passing things are getting intense & interesting. A loss here for any team would dent their chances or maybe end their hopes for the playoffs.

Kolkata Knight Riders are among the eight teams who are in contention to qualify for the playoffs. It is going to be a very tough task for them as not only do they have to win but they all would be wanting some other results to go there if they want to fancy their chances of qualifying.

Qualification scenarios for the Playoffs for Kolkata Knight Riders

They have two games remaining against Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants. First of all, they need to ensure that they win both their games by big margins so that their NRR gets a big boost. NRR is going to be a crucial aspect going ahead into the playoffs. Apart from winning their two games, they would want Royal Challengers Bangalore to defeat Rajasthan Royals and would be hoping for Gujarat Titans to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad. Not only this, have to hope for some other results too.

Mumbai Indians also need to beat Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals need to thrash Punjab Kings in their reverse fixture. They will also back Sunrises Hyderabad to beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by a big margin. 

Kolkata Knight Riders also need to have the results of the last two fixtures in their favour. They will back Punjab Kings to crush Rajasthan Royals and defending Champions Gujarat Titans to beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by a huge margin. After this, both KKR and PBKS will be tied at 14 points. Then the net run rate will decide the final play.
