Bihar's Sakibul Gani becomes the first batter in the history of Ranji Cricket to slam a triple century on his first-class debut. He scripted history on Friday while playing against Mizoram at the Jadavpur University Campus 2nd ground, Kolkata for Ranji Trophy 2021-22.

The 22-year-old batter made the highest individual score on his first-class debut by scoring 341 runs in 405 balls including 56 fours and 2 sixes with a strike rate of 84.20. The last record holder of this prestigious record is Ajay Rohera of Madhya Pradesh. He held the record for over 3 years. During a match against Hyderabad, Ajay scored an unbeaten 267 runs in December 2018.

Gani made his List A debut in 2019 for Bihar. The last time he was seen playing was during the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy for Bihar in November 2021. His stats in List A record is quite good with 377 runs in 14 matches. Coming to bat at No. 5, he took Bihar from 71-3 to 686-5. He made an overwhelming 538 run-stand for the 4th wicket along with Babul Kumar. Babul Kumar also was exceptional in the match as he scored and beat in 229 runs when they decided to declare their first innings at 686-5.

Ajinkya Rahane scored a ton for Mumbai against Saurashtra on Day 1 of the Ranji Trophy 2021-22. India U-19 captain Yash Dhull also scored a ton on his first-class debut against Tamil Nadu.
