The South Africa vs India 1st Test Match will be played at the SuperSport Park Cricket Stadium in Centurion.

India reaches Centurion for the first match of the 2-match Test series against South Africa. The first day of the first Test is under the serious threat of a washout. The weather at the Supersport Park in Centurion is not giving a good look ahead of the South Africa vs India boxing day test.

According to AccuWeather, there remains a 96% chance of rain during the day. At least 4 hours of rain is expected in Centurion on Tuesday during the day. The past couple of days have been hit by relentless rain, meaning the outfield wouldn't be in the best condition either.

As the day progresses, the chances of rain are expected to improve. AccuWeather suggests a a 60% chance of rain at night, which could affect the second day's play in Centurion too. The series could be a one-off test between the two teams if the 1st Test gets washed out.

Centurion has been South Africa's fortress, with 22 wins in 28 Tests but India managed to beat them by 113 runs on their last tour. The SuperSport Park is a batting-friendly track with some help for swing bowlers. The spinners don't have much advantage on this track. Batting will be easier in the early half than in the second half. The average score by the team batting first in the last 10 matches at this stadium is 377. But with the overcast conditions in South Africa, pacers will play a key role for both teams.
