    Team News

    Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad under Pat Cummings have been sensational this season. Till now they have won 5 out of their seven games and have been playing attacking Cricket continuously. Abhishek Sharma is firing at the top for Hyderabad along with Travis Head. They have scored more runs than any other teams in IPL 2024 in the powerplay. Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klassen have scored runs consistently as the middle-order batters while their recruit Nitish Kumar Reddy is making the batting unit more stable than ever. Shahbaz Ahmed scored a half-century in the last game and Abdul Samad will be also there to play the role of a finisher.

In the bowling lineup, captain Pat has been leading from the front along with Bhuvenshwar Kumar, who has always been one of their best bowlers in any condition. Though Jaydev Unadkat has gone for runs, he has been given to do the dirty job of bowling at the death with his variations. T Natarajan has been decent for them but he needs to improve his economy too. Shahbaz Ahmed has been their main bowler in the spin department along with Washington Sundar and Mayank Markande but Aiden Markram, Abhishek Sharma, and Travis Head can also bowl spin.

    Royal Challengers Bangalore

RCB have been struggling from the start of the tournament this season. Except for Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik, none has shown form consistently. Despite scoring a lot of runs and holding the orange cap, pundits have criticized Virat's strike rate at the end. Captain Faf du Plessis has not got himself going other than two matches. Glenn Maxwell is far away from his best and he is also injured.

Rajat Patidar scored some valuable runs in the last game but is inconsistent and needs to score runs continuously. RCB doesn't have too many opportunities and matches left so they would be hoping to get something positive from this season.

However, the bowling has been the most problematic thing for RCB. Mohammed Siraj has not looked at his best and has not given the start with the new ball they have been looking for. RCB have tried Yash Dayal, Reece Topley, Akash Deep, and Vyshak Vijaykumar as their pace variations, but except for Vyshak Vijaykumar, none has been that good so far.

Another reason for RCB's struggle is that they have no top-class spin bowler in their squad to handle the middle overs. In a nutshell, there are a lot of problems in RCB's setup and they need to do something to come out of this situation.

RCB have lost seven out of their seven games already and they are unofficially eliminated from the competition.
