Rumeli Dhar had lead the Bengal team in the 2020-21 Women's Senior One-Day Tournament. She had replaced Jhulan Goswami as the leader of the team. Bengal has a very good record in the past seasons of this tournament. Now with the World Cup experience of Richa Ghosh and Deepti Sharma, it will be interesting to see how they perform in the tournament.

The last time when Bengal had played in the final of the same tournament, Prativa Rana was the captain of the team. However, she has not been in the thick of things since then and her fitness has been an issue as well. Meanwhile, Ankita Chakraborty's inclusion in the squad was a surprise as well.

On the other hand, Hrishita Basu, Anindita Nath and Sasthi Mondal could have been a candidate for inclusion in the squad thinking of the future of Bengal Women's Cricket. Three of them were very good in the recently concluded BYJU'S Bengal Women's T20 Blast.

When we talk about the future, Bengal team management could have gone with Dhara Gujjar or Mita Paul for the captaincy as they will surely be the next captain of the Bengal women's team. Moreover, both of them had led their respective teams to the final of the BYJU'S Bengal Women's T20 Blast as well.

Priyanka Bala will be looking to make the most out of her opportunities after spending six years with the Railways team. Railways have granted her NOC to play for Bengal in the state tournaments.

Along with her Gouher Sultana and Saika Ishaque will hold the key in the bowling with their left-arm orthodox spin. They both have the experience of winning trophies with the Bengal team. Hence, they will be vital to Bengal's success.

Former India Cricketer Gargi Banerjee has said, "Dhara, Mita and Titas will hold the key for the Bengal team. They have done well in the recent tournaments. I believe if they can do well, and others can chip in, Bengal can be the Champions of Women's Senior T20 Trophy 2022."
