Rafael Crivellaro and Rahim Ali's second-half goals helped the Marina Machans register a 2-1 victory from the Chennaiyin FC vs Jamshedpur FC ISL 2023-24 fixture at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Football Stadium.

Owen Coyle's Chennaiyin FC climbed up to sixth place in the ISL 2023-24 points table, securing a 2-1 comeback victory against Khalid Jamil's Jamshedpur FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. The Red Miners did take the lead as Rei Tachikawa scored in the 22nd minute of the game. But, the Marina Machans didn't let their shoulders drop. They made a strong comeback in the second half on the back of Rafael Crivellaro and super-sub Rahim Ali to claim the important three points from the Chennaiyin FC vs Jamshedpur FC Indian Super League 2023-24 fixture.

Jamshedpur FC kept a high line but the backline stayed compact. Jordan Murray came close to scoring the opener for Chennaiyin FC twice in the first 20 minutes but couldn't help the home side take an early lead. The Red Miners silenced the home crowd after scoring against the run of play in the 22nd minute. Muhammed Uvais sent in a floating cross from the left flank and Rei Tachikawa beat CFC keeper Debjit Majumder with a fantastic header to provide his team with the lead.

CFC equalised almost immediately. Ryan Edwards met Crivellaro’s corner with a header but TP Rehenesh pulled off a brilliant safe to deny him. Khalid Jamil’s men almost doubled their lead in the dying minutes of the first half. Mohammed Sanan unleashes a shot from inside the box and it hit the post.

Chennaiyin FC looked like a completely different side in the second half. They dominated the game right from the start of the second half. In the 52nd minute, the chance came with a blunder by Rehenesh. Rehenesh tried to clear the ball but passed it straight to Crivellaro, who made no mistake and scored the equalizer.

Then the second-half substitute Rahim Ali completed the comeback. In the 59th minute, just three minutes after coming on the pitch, he beat the Jamshedpur backline and scored a superb solo goal to help his side get in front. Jamil tried everything he could to claim at least one point from this fixture. He brought Daniel Chima Chukwu and Komal Thatal, but Coyle’s men held on to preserve their narrow lead and finished the game with the deserving three points. They are now sixth in the points table with 24 points from 20 matches while the Red Miners remained in the ninth spot with 21 points.
