However, Captain Subhashish Bose scored the equalizer in the 61st minute and Jason Cummings scored the winner in the 87th minute to help the Mariners secure all three points. 

Northeast United FC will be back in their den after playing three consecutive away games, and it is no wonder that the Highlanders will capitalize on their home advantage to pull off another win. NorthEast have played four home matches while losing only one against Chennaiyin. Their home victories include an emphatic 5-0 win over Jamshedpur FC and a 3-2 win over Odisha FC in their last home match.

Juan Pedro Benali's men will look for ways to turn around from their narrow 0-1 defeat against East Bengal in their last game. NorthEast is currently positioned 6th in the league table, having bagged 15 points in 10 matches. NorthEast United will surely give their all to move steps ahead in the top six qualification race. 

Mohun Bagan Super Giant are in total contrast to their opponents tonight; standing in the second position of the league table with 20 points in 9 matches. Mohun Bagan's defence has been in a rock-solid wall since their 0-3 defeat against Bengaluru in September 2024, as the Mariners have kept clean-sheets in five of their last six games. However, after securing a late 1-0 win over Chennaiayin in their last match, Mohun Bagan will leave no stone unturned to keep their winning streak intact. 

Jose Molina's team is only three points behind league-leaders Bengaluru FC with two games in hand. The Kolkata side will bring out the best to solidify their position at the top and get comfortable in the race for the 2024-25 league shield.
