Manchester United beat their arch-rivals Manchester City by 2-1 to lift their 13th FA Cup title. The Premier League 2023-24 Champions couldn't beat the Red Devils to do the domestic double. Garnacho and Mainoo's first-half goals were enough for Man United to win the trophy. Jeremy Doku did score a late goal in the second half but United held on and ultimately came up with the victory. Manchester City dominated the possession and took more shots but those were not enough. Erik Ten Hag won the Carabao Cup last season with Manchester United and now has led the side to the FA Cup title.

Ten Hag was reportedly set to be sacked regardless of the result at Wembley after a terrible campaign that even he described as “terrible” this week. But now United may be having second thoughts after Ten Hag’s tactical masterclass against City in the FA Cup 2023-24 final.
Pep Guardiola's side was the hot favourite to win a second successive Premier League and FA Cup double. But, Ten Hag found a way to stop City as first-half goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo put United in front to win the FA Cup for the first time in eight years. Garnacho (19-year-old) was the first teenager to score in the FA Cup final since Cristiano Ronaldo scored in 2004 against Millwall. Just nine minutes later, the 19-year-old Mainoo punished City's defence to extend his side's lead.
Jeremy Doku scored one for his side in the 87th minute but it was too late to make a comeback. Last weekend, City became the first team to win the Premier League in four consecutive seasons. Guardiola’s men weren't looking sharp while United played their best football. Their defence remained compact, credit to Varane and Lisandro's deadly pairing. United will play Europa League next season while Chelsea have to feature in the Conference League.
