Irfan Yadwad scored a stoppage-time goal to help the Marina Machans register a 3-2 comeback victory in the Mohun Bagan vs Chennaiyin FC ISL 2023-24 match.

Chennaiyin FC registered a shocking 3-2 comeback victory against Mohun Bagan Super Giant at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata in the Indian Super League 2023-24 on March 31, Sunday. The Mariners were unbeaten in the ISL since Antonio Lopez Habas took charge at the start of the year but Chennaiyin ended the streak after coming back from 1-0 down to win the game by 3-2 at the stoppage time. Mohun Bagan remains in the second spot on the points table with 39 points from 19 matches. They failed to get past Mumbai City FC in the table despite taking the lead in the first half.

Chennaiyin FC have been inconsistent throughout the season. They have shown positive intent but have lacked quality in all areas. This time too, the Marina Machans started the game poorly but didn't let their shoulders drop. Joni Kauko provided Mohun Bagan with the lead in the first half but couldn't extend their lead. Jordan Murray brought back his side into the match, scoring in the 72nd minute of the match.

Ryan Edwards then scored the second goal of Chennaiyin FC and it looked like they had completed the comeback but Ankit Mukherjee gave away a penalty. Dimitri Petratos made no mistake and scored in the second minute of the stoppage time making the scoreline level. But, Irfan Yadwad went on to score the winner in the fourth minute of the stoppage time to clinch the victory for the visitors. Chennaiyin FC climbed up to the ninth spot in the points table with this huge victory.
