Odisha FC stays at the top of the ISL 2023-24 points table after a 1-1 draw against FC Goa

Odisha FC settled for a draw against FC Goa in the ISL 2023-24 at the Kalinga Stadium. Odisha now have 31 points in 15 matches. They are 3 points ahead of FC Goa, though Odisha have played three matches more. Roy Krishna put Odisha ahead, but Jay Gupta found the equaliser for the visitors in the 37th minute. Despite dominating proceedings, Odisha FC failed to find the winning goal in the second session.

Odisha FC began the game on the front foot and scored early in the game. Krishna has been in red-hot form this season, and he brought up his 11th goal of the ISL campaign by flicking the ball past Arshdeep.

However, Jay Gupta rose to the occasion to smash in a screamer of a shot to draw the scores level and help them secure at least a point from this difficult away encounter.

Throughout the game, both teams had opportunities to take the lead. In the 17th minute, Jay Gupta attempted a direct shot on target, but Amrinder Singh collected the ball comfortably and avoided any kind of danger. Isak had a chance in the 41st minute but was intercepted by Seriton. Despite several attempts from Princeton and Carlos Delgado, neither team could take the three points home.

In the second half, both teams pushed for a winning goal. Jahouh delivered a promising corner kick to Diego, but his header hit the crossbar. In the 70th minute, Jahouh attempted another free-kick and Carlos Delgado, whose shot went off the target. Isak came close to scoring with a powerful right-footed shot from outside the box but hit the woodwork. Both teams had their chances but neither of them could get the winning goal.
