Real Madrid and Manchester City played out a 3-3 draw in Madrid in a chaotic UEFA Champions League 2023-24 quarter-final match on Wednesday. Manchester City had to leave their captain Kevin de Bryune on the bench due to illness but that did not stop them from scoring early as Bernardo Silva got the better of Lunin within the first two minutes of the game via a free-kick. But, Real Madrid being Real Madrid came back quickly to get things back for them.
Camavinga's shot took Ruben Dias' deflection to go in the goal in the 12th minute and then Rodrygo scored a wonderful goal two minutes later to give them the lead. Both teams settled down after some early goals as the first half ended at 2-1 for Real Madrid.
However, the second half saw more proactive Manchester City as Phil Foden and others kept on entering the final third easily. Foden then scored a worldie to stun the Madrid crowd in the 66th minute. Josko Gvardiol then scored a beautiful goal to give Manchester City the lead. But, their joy could not last longer as Federico Valverde scored a stunning one-touch volley to level things up. After this 3-3 draw, both teams now will decide everything in the second leg at Etihad Stadium next week. Phil Foden won the player of the match award for his outstanding performance.
