Ryan Williams scores as the Blues get a crucial win against Chennaiyin FC in the ISL 2023-24

Bengaluru FC secured a 1-0 victory over Chennaiyin FC at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24. A second-half strike by Ryan Williams was enough for Bengaluru FC to clinch an important victory in the ISL 2023-24.

Williams scored after several chances went begging for his side. Oliver Drost, making his first appearance for BFC, won the ball in midfield and made a short pass to Halicharan Narzary. Narzary provides a pass towards Williams who beat his marker and slotted it into the net.

Chennaiyin FC dropped one spot to tenth. BFC dominated possession, created better chances, and they deserved the win. Chennaiyin's best opportunity came in the 49th minute when Connor Shields hit it wide.

The first half belonged to BFC. Sunil Chhetri and Williams linked well to make the defenders sweat. Chhetri would be disappointed to miss an easy chance from inside the box.

Chennaiyin FC were looking stable at the back for most of the time. However, they could not do so when Williams was set up with a beautiful through ball by Halicharan Narzary through the centre in the 62nd minute. Williams showed remarkable composure to put the ball past Debjit Majumder and prevent Chennaiyin FC from doing the double over Bengaluru FC this season.
