UEFA Champions League Knockout phase Play-off draw: Where is it? When is it?

The UEFA Champions League 2024-25 knockout phase play-off draw occurs from 16:30 PM IST on Friday 31st January at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.

After matchday 8 in the UEFA Champions League, we have the teams that will take their place in the knockout play-off, which is introduced to the competition in the 2024-25 season. The top eight teams in the league phase qualify automatically in the round of 16, and the team finishing in ninth to 24th place kick off the knockout stages. They compete in a two-legged knockout phase play-off to secure their path to the last 16. 

Which teams are taking part in the Champions League Knockout phase:

The teams that finished 9th to 24th in the league phase will compete in two-legged knockout phase play-offs to secure their spot in the round of 16. The teams finished between 9th to 16th will be seeded for the first draw of the knockout phase and will face a team placed 17th to 24th.

Knockout phase play-offs games date and time: 

The Knockout phase play-offs are played over two weeks: 

First Leg: 11/12 February 2025.

Second Leg: 18/19 February 2025.

After the Champions League group stage, the competition will proceed as follows:

– Playoffs: February 11/12 (first leg) and February 18/19 (return leg)
– Round of 16: March 4/5 (first leg) and March 11/12 (return leg)
