The Indian women's hockey team will start its campaign in the Women's Asian Champions Trophy against Thailand on October 27.

The Indian women's hockey team will start its campaign in the Women's Asian Champions Trophy against Thailand on October 27. Hockey India announced the schedule of the tournament on Tuesday.

According to the schedule, the Women's Asian Champions Trophy will start with the match between Malaysia and Japan while India will face Thailand on the first day itself. This will be the third match of the day. Teams from South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, China, and India will participate in the tournament, which will run till November 5.

Meanwhile, India will play its last match in the group stage against Korea on November 2. All the teams have been placed in one group. The top four teams will qualify for the Women's Asian Champions Trophy semi-finals. The top team in the group stage will face the fourth-placed team. While the second semi-final will be played between the second and third-placed teams. The current champion of the Women's Asian Champions Trophy is Japan but this time it is likely to face tough competition from Korea and India. Korea has won this trophy maximum three times so far.

The Indian team is in good form right now. They had won a bronze medal at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games while also clinching the title at the FIH Hockey Women's Nations Cup in Spain last year. India also won the Women's Asian Champions Trophy in 2016 while they were the runner-up in 2018.

  • 28th October 2023- Japan v/s Korea, Thailand v/s China, India v/s Malaysia
  • 30th October 2023- Korea v/s Malaysia, Thailand v/s Japan, China v/s India
  • 31st October 2023- Korea v/s Thailand, Malaysia v/s China, Japan v/s India
  • 2nd November 2023- Malaysia v/s Thailand, China v/s Japan, India v/s Korea
  • 4th November 2023- 5th/6th Place, Semi-Final 1 (2nd in pool v/s 3rd in pool), Semi-Final 2 (1st in pool v/s 4th in pool)
  • 5th November 2023- 3rd/4th Place (Loser SF1 v/s Loser SF2), Final (Winner SF1 v/s Winner SF2)
