As Manchester City became the ninth English Club to enter the UEFA Champions League Final by beating PSG, Pep Guardiola also made some unique records as well. Pep Guardiola became only the 7th coach to reach the Champions League final with two different clubs.

Man City was ahead in the first leg against PSG who was also looking for their first-ever UCL final. With a lead in the first leg, City beat PSG 2-0 in the second leg also in their home match. They progressed to the final with an aggregate of 4-1 and became the only English team to win 11 games in a single European Competition.

Pep Guardiola's coached team Manchester City also won their 7th consecutive match in the Champions League, which is also a record for any English team.

Therefore, along with Manchester City, Pep Guardiola also made some records as well as a manager or coach. Pep is regarded as one of the best in the current era along with Zidane and Clopp.

#1 Ottmar Hitzfeld

Nicknamed "General" by the world football, Ottmar Hitzfeld was the first coach to reach UCL finals with two different clubs. Ottmar Hitzfeld reached the Champions League final twice with Borussia Dortmund (1996-97) and Bayern Munich (2000-01). Moreover, he did not just reach the finals, he managed to win the Champions League on both occasions as well.

Ottmar was awarded the "World's Best Club Coach" in both years by FIFA.

#2 Louis van Gaal

Another coach to reach the Champions League final with Bayern Munich. Louis van Gaal was one of the rare coaches to manage teams in different countries and leagues across the world. He won the Champions League with Ajax in 1994-95 and then reached the final with Bayern Munich in 2010-11 as well. Along with that he also was the first-ever Dutch manager to win the Bundesliga in 2010.

Along with Pep, Mourinho is one of the modern-day greats on our list. Mourinho has been with many teams across the world. Tottenham Hotspur is the most recent one. Jose reached the final of the tournament twice with FC Porto in 2003-04 and then with Inter Milan in 2009-10. Perhaps, he has a 100% win record in Champions League finals.

He was awarded the "World's Best Club Coach" on four occasions in 2003, 2004, 2009, and 2011.

#4 Jupp Heynckes

Heynckes had a long managerial career and coached as many as 9 teams in his 38-year-long career.

Heynckes won the "World's Best Club Coach" once in 2012.

Carlo Ancelotti has won it everywhere he coached. Be it in Italy, France, Spain or England he has won it everywhere. He is regarded as one of the most successful club managers ever. Ancelotti played the Champions League final with two different teams and won it with two different teams as well. He won the trophy in 2002-03 and 2006-07 with AC Milan and then went on to win it with Real Madrid in 2006-07 and 2021-22 seasons.

#6 Jurgen Klopp

Klopp was revolutionary with Borrusia Dortmund. He helped the team win the Bundesliga in 2011 and then he also helped the team to reach the UCL Final in 2012-13 from the "group of death". Then he managed to pull off another miracle when he took Liverpool into the finals of the Champions League in 2018-19. Not only that this time he managed to win the trophy as well.

Hence, Klopp was the 6th coach to reach the Champions League final with two different clubs.

Pep is the most recent coach to reach the Champions League final with two different clubs. He had great success with FC Barcelona back in the late 2000s and the start of the 2010s. Pep managed to win the UEFA Champions League with FC Barcelona in 2008-09 and 2011-12 season. Now, with Man City reaching the Champions League final for the first time in the 2020-2021 season, Pep has become the 7th coach to reach the Champions League final with two different clubs.
