US Open 2025 increases 20% of prize money, largest prize money in Grand Slam history

The tennis Grand Slam US Open is scheduled to begin on August 24. This is the last Grand Slam of the year. This tournament has created history even before it began. The United States Tennis Association has announced the prize money for the US Open 2025. Its prize money is more than any tournament in tennis history. 

The total prize money of this tournament to be held in New York is 90 million dollars i.e. approximately 788 crore rupees. The United States Tennis Association has once again decided to give away the biggest prize in tennis history.

Prize money increases 20%

The total prize money of last year's US Open was $75 million. It has been increased by 20%. This year the winner of men's and women's singles will get $5 million (about Rs 44 crore). This is 39% more than the $3.6 million given in 2024.

The winning team of IPL gets Rs 20 crore. This will be the biggest winning amount in the history of the game. Along with this, the players reaching the finals, semi-finals, quarter-finals and round of 16 will also get more money.

The semi-finalists will receive $1.26 million (26% more), the quarter-finalists will receive $660,000 (25% more), and the Round of 16 will receive $400,000 (23% more). This change has been made so that even the players who lose in the initial rounds can get some advantage.

Prize money also been increased in doubles Games

The prize money has also been increased in men's and women's doubles. This step has been taken to encourage players participating in doubles. The prize money for doubles has been increased by 23% to $4.78 million, which was $3.89 million in 2024.

The United States Tennis Association says that it always tries to provide better facilities to the players. That is why the prize money has been increased.
