The Rising Stars Asia Cup was previously known as the India Emerging Cup, which was primarily an under-23 tournament. It has also been called the Emerging Team Asia Cup, but now many countries including India have included a mix of young and senior players in it to maintain a balance of talent and experience.

The current edition of the Rising Stars Asia Cup will be played in Doha, Qatar, from November 14 to 23. The Indian team has been placed in Group B, which also includes Oman, the UAE, and Pakistan. Group A includes Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong. The event will feature 15 T20 matches, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semifinals, while defending champions Afghanistan aim to retain their crown.

Rising Stars Asia Cup: Format

In the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025, eight teams are divided into two groups of four teams each. Each team will play one match against the other three teams in its group. The team finishing at the top of Group A will face the team finishing second in Group B in Semifinal 1, while the team finishing second in Group A will face the team finishing first in Group B in Semifinal 2. The winners of these two semifinals will then face each other in the final for the silverware.

Rising Stars Asia Cup | Past Winners and Results

There have been six editions of this tournament so far. The tournament started in 2013 and was hosted by Singapore. It was an eight-team tournament, and India Under-23 won the inaugural edition after defeating Pakistan Under-23. However, India has only won the title once in the past six editions. Sri Lanka subsequently won the title in 2017 and 2018. Pakistan won the title in 2019 and 2023, while Afghanistan won the title in 2024.
