Football legend Lionel Messi is visiting India after a gap of 14 years. His tour, 'GOAT India Tour 2025', will run from December 13th to 15th. During this period, he will visit four cities of the country - Kolkata, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi, where vigorous preparations are underway to welcome him.
During his visit, Messi will not only participate in numerous events but also meet with several prominent figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During his visit to India, Messi will also inaugurate a 70-foot-tall statue of himself in Kolkata.

Second visit to India since 2011
This is Messi's second visit to India. His first was in September 2011, when he captained Argentina in a friendly match against Venezuela at Kolkata’s Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (Salt Lake Stadium). Over 75,000 fans witnessed Argentina’s 1–0 victory, sealed by defender Nicolás Otamendi. Messi provided the decisive assist in that match.
Luis Suárez and De Paul to join GOAT India Tour 2025
Tour promoter Satadru Dutta has also roped in Messi's long-time friend and legendary striker Luis Suárez and Argentina's World Cup-winning player Rodrigo De Paul to make the event even more grand. The presence of these players will make the GOAT Tour even more special for football lovers.
Lionel Messi's GOAT India Tour 2025 | When and where to watch live?
The entire event is being organised by sports promotion firm A Satadru Dutta Initiative (ASDI), a venture by Kolkata-based entrepreneur Satadru Dutta, who has previously brought World Cup legends like Diego Maradona, Pele, Cafu, and most recently, Emiliano Martinez, to Kolkata.
Select events from Lionel Messi GOAT India Tour 2025 will be available on live streaming on the Prasar Bharati YouTube channel and the Waves OTT app. Live telecast will be available on the DD Sports TV channel.
For the tour, tickets, however, are still available for all venues. Kolkata’s prices range from Rs. 4366 to Rs. 11,800. In Mumbai, the venue is almost fully booked, with the available tickets costing in the range of Rs. 8850 to Rs. 14750.
Hyderabad is relatively empty, with tickets ranging from Rs. 2250 to Rs. 30,000, while passes cost Rs. 4720 to Rs. 5900 in New Delhi.
