Shillong Lajong FC beat Emami East Bengal FC by 2-1 in the second quarter-final match of the Durand Cup 2024 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong on 21st August 2024. The Red Dragons got their lead early in the first half when Rudwere buried the ball in from a corner. East Bengal came very close on a few occasions but couldn't get their equalizer. Shillong also tried to double their lead but wasted some huge opportunities.

East Bengal started the second half on a positive note and Nandha delivered a good finish at the 77th minute of the game. Just when the East Bengal fans thought they were back in it, Figo restored the lead for the Red Dragons. The Red & Gold Brigade weren't able to find their second equalizer as they lost the game by a narrow margin.
