Under the guidance of the UCMAYPSF and UYSFWB Chapters, the South Asia Yoga Sports Championship 1.0 was successfully held at Kakore Bhita, HMC, Nepal. The event brought together over 350 participants from 12 countries, showcasing the growing popularity and recognition of yoga as a competitive discipline across South Asia.
Representing India, five talented students from Life Care Yoga, Ranaghat, made the nation proud with their remarkable performances across multiple categories.
In the Senior Category (28–30 age group), Swapna Pal delivered an outstanding performance, winning the Gold Medal and also securing the Runner-up position in the Champion of Champions round. Her poise, flexibility, and control reflected the years of dedication and discipline that yoga demands.
In the 26–27 age group, Puja Thakur brought further glory to India by clinching another Gold Medal, demonstrating exceptional strength and balance throughout her routine.
The younger participants also left their mark on the international stage. In the Junior Category (12–13 age group), Aishi Biswas showcased her skill and concentration to earn a Gold Medal, while in the Sub-Junior Category, Suryanshu Basu and Babhrabi Mondal won Silver Medals in the 7–8 and Euro kids 5–6 age groups, respectively.
Their success is a testament to the rigorous training and guidance provided by Live Care Yoga, which continues to nurture young talents and promote yoga as both a sport and a way of life.
India’s overall performance at the championship not only highlighted the country’s rich yogic tradition but also demonstrated its growing influence in the global yoga sports community. With such achievements, these young athletes have set an inspiring example for future generations to follow.
